Yatra in joint venture in Rajasthan

Yatra Foundation has agreed to undertake a joint venture with the Uday Community School Group in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, to build a school in a remote part of Sawai Madhopur.

jointventure

Two of Yatra Foundation's co-founders, Sanjay Jain and Ravi Savarirayan, sign the agreement with the Uday Community School Group

The first Uday Community School was set-up in June 2004 with the rationale to establish schools to provide good quality and relevant education in educationally deprived rural communities.

Their secondary aim is to demonstrate an alternative model of education to government schools often working alongside them to achieve their goals. The school founders gained the support and input from the communities and has now built two geographically separate schools, with community support for a third school.

Yatra plans to provide the financial support for the construction of the third Uday School. The funds will go directly to help build and finance the ongoing expenses for this joint venture school, which will directly benefit up to 300 children living in the region.
